Failure to update and configuration issues.

Along with another poster,I have noticed a continual stream of updates each and every day...every time I turn either on or off,the machine "needs to configure" or "installing new updates"...this isn`t like the quick installation or configurations of old but takes ages...ehat is the problem here and why so many updates ? ...there can only be so many,not each day surely ?

 

I have several Acer netbooks running either windows 7 home edition and starter versions.

 

I also have an ASUS netbook which is running windows 7 starter but the updates are nowhere near the same frequency.

I think I have noticed what is going on here...for some reason my machine is trying to load updates for XP....

 

I have windows 7 !?!?
