Dark screen after dropped laptop - maybe Inverter ?

[ Editado ]

Hi,

My Acer Aspire 3820TG was dropped on the floor.

It boots up just fine except that the screen is "almost" completely dark now. Theres about 5% light if I turn the screen and I barely see the desktop icons. When connecting external monitor it works normal.

What do I have to replace ??  Since its a LED-Backlit screen I guess I would need to buy whole new screen ?

Plz Help me !!

maybe the connection the screen has become a bit loose. i almost bought a screen bcos of this same type of problem. its when i pulled the bezel to check the model number i realised it was the connection to the screen had become loose. so check that first..........

Re: Dark screen after dropped laptop - maybe Inverter ?

Yes i´ve checked that now and the connector is not loose.

And the RAM´s has to be good also since the output with external monitor (Hdmi) works as normal without any error msg.

I guess i have to order a new screen then ??

Since i actually DROPPED the laptop on the floor and that got me the dark screen problem, I guess the solution with updating BIOS, wouldn´t change anything.

one more thing, did you check the connection frm the board side? snall posibilty it could be loose from that end. but soounds more like you're gonna need a new screen.

Red, you really might have to buy a new screen. But first, take it to a computer repair shop and explain it to them. If your screen isn't cracked, there might be a loose connection that you haven't been able to find.

Hope this helps.
