Hi Guys,

I'm fairly new to this kind of thing, so I apologise if I sound like a bit of an idiot.

I shut my Aspire one down, or so I thought, came to log back on and the screen just stays blank.  It flashes the Microsoft bar at the bottom, the curser appears but then nothing else

I have gone through a reboot, a system check for failures, I have even checked to make sure the brightness on the screen is full too

Any ideas?

Boot into Safe Mode and see if you can see anything.

That it's flashing a Microsoft bar and you get a cursor indicates it is not the screen or video card.

It's most likely a driver issue when Windows is starting.

turn on the computer then press f8 immediately and its bring the list choose enable low resolution video. Then if nothing happen maybe you need to repair or reinstall you os or maybe you have a faulty hard drive...
