Aspire dead

Hi I have a acer aspire netbook, and it has done something crazy, the whole screen goes glitchy and lines pop on the screen they all shift over. It is strange, have no way of accurately describing it. My computer guy told me that it might have a bios problem but i have no idea of how hardware works so I thought id come here and ask questions any help on how to fix this i was told to insert the disc from when i got the pc but since it is a net book there is no disc drive.
