Running Windows 8. When I open NVIDIA control panel, (NVIDIA 730m graphics card), it only shows the 3d options for the card. The system seems to be running the Intel 4000 graphics when not using 3d apps. Is there a way to turn on the NVIDIA graphics as default?
Also, when I hook my LED TV thru the HDMI port and enable the TV, either in clone or extend mode, the fullscreen display on the TV is slightly too large and the ICONS on the Acer Desktop taskbar are half missing. When using Internet Explorer you cannot see the X in the upper right ccrner to close it. Can the output be scaled down about 5-10%?

You should be able to right click on the desktop and "Change Switchable Graphics"
