Aspire M5-581T-6807: is 20GB SSD engaged?

Bought recently Aspire M5 laptop. Under disk management I see 20GB SSD partitioned to 2 unnamed volumes. Is this 20GB already engaged in usuage for OS. Can I format and play around to setup paging files and applications?

Re: Aspire M5-581T-6807: is 20GB SSD engaged?

Hello.

I recently purchased an Aspire M5-581t-6807 (refurbished, $305 inc/shipping).

It only reads one drive showing 414gb, with 30gb used leaving a total of 386gb free. The SSD is not showing up at all in the system/my computer (although it does show up on the device manager, but without any details whatsoever).

Is that normal?

Regardless, after the 90 day warranty is expired I am planning opening the laptop up and up-grading the SSD to a 128gb SSD and the HDD up to a 1tb 7200 unit. I understand doing that will put me into No Man's Land, but that is ok. I have been there before many times.

So has anybody here opened up their M5 laptop and modified it? If so any wisdom you can share will be greatly appreciated.

All the best to each of you.
