My Acer Aspire 8920G laptop keeps shutting down and restarting when i log into Vista. When i touch the heatsink on top of the graphics card, it is really hot. The fan runs well and the rest of the laptop is cool.
The current graphic card details are;
ATI RADEON HD 3650 GRAPHICS 512 MB.
I got a replacment card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 MXM II 256MB DDR3 VGA video Card but this one is worse as it quickly shuts down when the laptop goes past the BIOS POST screen.
I'll be grateful for your assistance in resolving this matter.
Try updating the ATI VGA Driver. Click on the link to download the driver:
Download the driver and open the downloed folder, Double click on the SetUp Application file to install the driver.
After driver reinstallation, restart the computer.
Hope this will fix the issue...
Problem is that the laptop wont allow me to install the update. It quickly shuts down and reboots after logging in. Trying this in safe mode doesn't help either.
