If you read the long thread on poor WIFI, you will definitely want to replace the Broadcomm Adapter and also the antenna and memory.

Intel do not claim that Broadcom adapters are compatible per se. They are saying that two(?) Broadcom chips are compatible. If your R7 is using a Broadcom card, you would need to confim it is using one of the specified chips.
To check your laptop for chipset suitability, you can run 'Intel System Identification Utility':
