The recommended method for upgrading to Windows 8 is to use the Upgrade Assistant.

This would mean that you go back to the installed operating system from the factory, use the Upgrade Assistant and upgrade to Windows 8 over the installed operating system. The previously working hardware under the original OS should continue to work under Windows 8, as the drivers were already present.
If you attempt to clean install, some drivers will not be carried over and if there is no download package, will fail to operate.
