Hi all,
I bought a Zorac GeForce GT 520 PCI Express x16 card. I inserted the card in the slot, but when I booted, there were no signal either from the on board video card or from the Zotac card. As far as I understand, the on board video card is automatically disabled when a PCI Express video card is installed. Is there any step that should be done before pluging in the Zotac card ? For those who wonder, the power supply is 300 Watt.
Thanks

I found out by myself.
I hat to delete the 'actual' video card driver, in this instance Intel driver, and then the computer booted on the Zotac card in VGA. Then it was just a matter of installing the new driver.

I don't think deleting any drivers was absolutely necessary... When I installed my ATI Radeon HD5450, all I had to do was go into the BIOS, choose "PCI-E" as the default video source, and my PC immediately used the ATI as the default video source. Windows kept the drivers for the integrated NVIDIA, but also automatically installed the drivers for my ATI. ![]()
