Acer S3-951 eRecovery updating systems step stops at 99%

I am trying to reset my S3-951 to factory settings. When I run erecovery (Alt+F10 since Windows doesn't boot), the updating system step goes up to 99% and get stuck for hours and never continues.

This seems to be a common problem with other models as well, as I have seen quite a lot of messages about this. None, however, offer a real solution to this problem.

Does Acer eRecovery program use a log file that I can look at to see the reason it is stuck? Any other alternatives?

It is possible that there is a hardware issue preventing the process from completing.

I would suggest looking at the article below and attempting an alternative method first.

I found a solution: Turn off the computer when it gets stuck at 99%, then reboot from a CD or DVD with Cute Partition Manager or a similar software in it (I used Ultimate Boot CD), then change the boot flag on the Acer partition to yes, save and reboot. After this you will need a Windows repair disk (or a Windows installer DVD) and do a startup repair (sometimes you will need to run it twice), and voilá! the installation will continue as usual.
