I bought this laptop just over 6 months ago, and rather strangely, it seems that it had picked up quite more dust than I've ever seen on any of my previous laptops and the fan started to make grinding noise which kept geting louder, and, it started heating a lot which then started having an effect on the performance.
As I've checked many times, there are no Acer repair shops where I live, so I'm left with the option to open it up and clean it myself. I've seen videos of this and I have to say that there is a lot of work involved with this particular model to get to the fan.
Should I do this ?

I would consider two other options :
1. Buy a can of compressed air and blast it through the venting several short sharp blasts should do the trick.
2. Send it into Acer for repair saying the fan is noisy and it overheats.
I never recommend a person open up a notebook unless they are trained, can sometimes do more damage than good.
Good luck ! ![]()
