I just received my Acer Aspire R7 and really like this machine but the touchpad does not seem to be working. I tried the "Fn" / F7 combination and every time I use that combo, there's a little popup on the screen which would seem to indicate that it's being turned on and off, but it still has no effect on the actual touchpad functionality. When I go to the control panel and select the mouse icon, I get a popup error message indicating "Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver. When i pull up the mouse properties window and select the hardware tab, nothing is listed.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
