I would really like to know where you are seeing this information about flashing the BIOS to correct no display, please.
Have you attempted to connect an external monitor to the system?

I too am interested in this BIOS reflashing to cure black screen, because to be honest
I have never used a BIOS reflash to get the screen going. I've managed to get screens
going with drivers, screen replacement, inverter, motherboards, heated up MXM
cards in the over, etc, but never a reflash
Maybe this is a new trick for an old dog to find out about.

I watched the vid at the link you posted and found it interesting. I don't know, but I
have had probs with something like this and it was the graphics chip needing to be
"reballed" back into the motherboard. Acer's get hot as do most all lappy's and the
solder that connects the chip to the mb breaks down somewhat causing the
two parts to fail to interface with each other after the unit starts to warm up.
It's just too bad it's not an MXM type board where you could either heat up
the card in the over to reseal the solder or just replace the card. Also it's really
critical that the cooling radiator be clean and decent thermal paste be used
on the chips. Sure makes a big difference.
I hope it isn't this, but there are company's that reseal chips to boards or there
are used boards avail with warranty's on ebay.

I don't know where you would install it unless that board has some terminal
that allows extra cards. The card as you know is integrated with the motherboard
and it might just be that you'll have to decide if it's worth having a company
to reseat the chip into the board, go for another, board or maybe... use a USB
powered external graphics card if such an animal exists, to cure your lappy's
graphics.
It's not cheap anyway you look at it, but were it me, I probably go with
a used motherboard with a warranty even though most warrantys are
only good for around 30 days or so. But not all is lost. I'll pm you a link
as it's against forums rules, I believe to link such ads.
