I am looking into purchasing more memory for my Aspire 5552, however I was looking into getting memory of a higher speed bracket to hopefully bring out more performance when playing games. The acer support website:
http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/2010/Ac
Says Dual-channel DDR3 SDRAM support: Up to 4 GB of DDR3 1066 MHz system memory, upgradable to 8 GB using two soDIMM modules. I currently have 8GB of DDR3 1066 installed, and was looking into getting a Dual Channel kit of 8GB DDR3 1600, for a bit of a speed boost to match my 7200RPM HDD. But I have read that some systems were not compatible with cetain brands and speeds of memory modules, and would not boot with them, and I was just curious if the Aspire 5552 was compatible with them.
Info:
Acer Aspire 5552-7803
Windows 7 Ultimate Ed. x64
8GB DDR3 1066
500GB 7200 RPM HDD

For your particular unit, with a 1333 MHz processor, you may be able to go up to 1333.
I'm not sure how much additional performance you may gain, when you're already at 8GB.
