Hi havehad this Acer Apire 4750 approx 1 year running  Windows 7 ultra and additionally Virtual PC for XP programs

Recently it has started to bleep (single piano key sound) and generating various comments in Event Viewer.

Any help in sorting appreciated

Further to original post I have since resolved the problem of event sound.

It was caused by using Driver Manager to update my sounds/audio drivers and it had activated 2 sound features which were conflicting.

I checked via control panel and isolated the realtic stereo sound function

The problem went away and all is well, so no further action required, except to ensure Driver Manager updates are monitored and checked before accepting a driver update of something that I am not actually using!!!
