Acer 8943G - flashing orange Power Indicator light

I'd really like to know exactly why my orange Power indicator light slowly flashes when I put my 8943G into Sleep mode.

That is, <Fn> + <F4>

I realise that it might be telling me something like the laptop is still on, but currently inactive.

The orange light is the one next to the HDD indictor light at the front of the laptop.

The laptop is working fine.

In fact, I'm delighted with it.

No battery charging problems at all.

The light stops flashing after about 4 -6 hours, I believe.

The laptop starts up straight away when I press the Power button.

I've come to the conclusion that the light is telling me that the laptop is still on, but currently inactive.

But can I change the length of time that orange light keeps flashing?

Or is the duration hard-wired into the computer?

As I have said, I believe it flashes for about 4 - 6 hours or so.

I think this indicates that the system is charging the battery. There isn't a way to adjust or turn this off.

    "I think this indicates ... . "

    Thanks for that.

But I'm still not sure it is an indication of charging activity on my particular model?

The light incorporated within the right hinge indicates charging.

That is, blue for fully charged and orange when charging.

    Both are steady lights.

    Not flashing.

Let's see if the others have any ideas.
