Hi,
I have an Acer 4810TZ Notebook and I have just replaced the hard drive in it.
I have installed a Western Digital hard drive in it and it works great apart from 2 problems.
I have used the back up disks I created to install everything, but my first problem is no matter what I try Windows Update will not work, and my other problem is when I try to do a restore using the eRecovery option, I get a message saying that the hard drive is not set to factory default. What does this mean and how do I correct it.
The original drive had the restore partition on it, but now the new hard doesn't, so all the data is on the C:drive.
Anyone got any ideas.

Do you get any type of error when attempting to use Windows Update?

I get a message saying that windows update is not running and you will have to restart your computer.
I have done this numerous times and it does not work.
