My monitor on my acer notebook has gone black. I have restored the computer to the factory settings and still no luck. If I take a flashlight and shine it on the monitor, I can see it go on and I can type in the password etc. I can even go online. It's not easy to do and it takes time ( I keep loosing the curser). I have also pressed the FN key and the arrow keys. There just isen't anything that works. It looks as though there is no light in the monitor.
I hope there is someone out there who has had the same problem and can help me.
Thank you...Bob

It sounds very much like the portion of the panel which lights it, has failed.

Hi. This is the exact same thing that has happened to my Acer Extensa 4420 Laptop just this evening. I was lucky enough to get it to light just long enough after turning it off and back on again to properly shut down, as I too found it difficult to see the cursor. I really hope that we find an inexpensive solution to this problem as I am disabled and use it for reading a lot and it is my main source of entertainment, as I do not go out of the house often. I posted as cheali2005 so if you get an answer please look for my post and let me know what you find out. I would appreciate it so much.
