Hello

The acer v3 771 6865 came with 6gb ram and i switched out 2gb stick for 4gb upgrading to 8gb total preparing for wife christmas gift. If the installed ram (from different manufacturers) is replaced with 8gb ram (2x4) purchased from Crucial will performance improve? thx

You may see some improvement. Depends on what your wife does with the comptuer. If she plays games with high graphics, the comptuer would be able to handle the programs better.

She is no gamer, mostly skyping to Far East, utilizing chinese language & related downloads, basic web searching. Thank You

Honestly, i would just upgrade the ram to feel like the better one amongst my friends. Im sure she will never use more than 50% on the 6Gig ram by doing what she does. You will be throwing your money away, but you can do it for the fun of it.
