Low memory alert while using internet

I have a Acer Aspire V3-551, when I have a number of internet pages open I get an alert saying,

"Your computer is low on memory"...then it wants to close the pages to restore the amount of memory needed...but I've only got 5 internet pages open and 5 word docs?

Please can someone help, this is SO annoying!

Re: Low memory alert while using internet

I have owned my Acer Aspire V3-731-4849 for just over 2 weeks now and I also am getting the same error message?  What gives?  I have never seen this message before on any other laptops/PC.  Help?

Re: Low memory alert while using internet

There are several considerations when regarding memory usage.

What applications are running?  How much RAM are they using?

Each tab on a browser will require it's own memory space and use additional memory.

If you open the Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt+ Del, Start Task Manager) you will be able to see under the Processes tab how much Memory each open application, app, or tab is using.
