Monitor turned off during normal use this week. Turning the monitor back on shows the screen for about a 2 seconds, a series of quick dimming flickers, a hiss/pop from the panel (not the board), and the screen goes blank. Computer is good as I am using a backup monitor now. Took monitor apart and I am not seeing any obvious dead capacitors or other burned board components. Definitely can smell ozone with the cover off and trying to cycle the power. I have not taken the LCD panel apart yet since I was hoping it was a capacitor. Looking for advice on what to check next.

I went to your support page and it confirms my product is out of warrenty. That page suggested I try the forums. Now you have pointed me back to where I came from.
Lets start here
https://customercare.acer.com/customercare/CaseBoo
First, I find I can't right click and paste the SNID number. Okay, I will type that in.
Second, try to click date, nothing happens. Try next. Nope
Third, now I will type in the 11 digit code, again, and the 23 digit serial number. Then try next or date.
Result - nothing.
So I guess I will go back here.

Lets try Support. A window wanting my SNID number appears. This window looks familar, oh yes, I tried that on Saturday. I guess the good thing is after not being able to right click and paste the SNID, I have the number memorized by now. So lets try entering it again.
Answer, its out of warrenty, please try one of the other options. Okay, what other choices do I have.
I found my solution here.

The solutions look a pricey, but lets see what they say.
For $20, I can find out how to set my home page - wow
$30 - set up email - great deal
$80 - see sales agent, huh
Nothing about an LCD monitor. To pay someone to say, your 3yr 5mth LCD, its dead Jim and will cost $120 to repair is preposterous. However, I will take free forum advice that it is irretrievably dead and save my money for a new LCD.
