Hi There,
Cany anyone tell me if I need to purchase Windows media center or another DVD software program in order for me to play back my DVD's on my newly purchased V5-571P Acer ultrabook? It will play CD's no problem but when I load a DVD I get an error message saying that the DVD format is incompatible. I'm using original DVD's not copies or video files that have been converted.
Thanks.

DVD playback requires a DVD decoder on the system. Microsoft to no longer shipping a DVD decoder with Windows or Media Center.
If you would like to have Media Center:
Until January 31, 2013, Microsoft is offering the Windows 8 Media Center Pack for no charge.
An additional piece of software is necessary to enable DVD playback. There are several software packages that will enable this for you, but we do not ship one on the system.
