Everytime I re-install my laptop i get this issue with it freezing randomly.
I've sent it to Acer in my country for repair once before, when it occured for the first time, and
they told me it had something to do with my hard drive not properly preloading.
Because I have no warranty anymore and I can't have it sent to Acer again, because I'm in the middle
of a semester and I need it.
So, it freezes randomly for a random period of time. (2-5 min usually)
Does anyone have an idea how I could fix this?
EDIT: I have installed the drivers present on Acer website for my specific model, but I had to install a driver from ATI from their own website, which resulted in a different driver I had than before. My graphic cards is Ati Mobility Radeon HD 5650. Since my problem has something to do with the sata controller (as Acer support told me before), I've ntoiced that my wifi connection light blinks instead of constantly glowing.
EDIT2: Currently the drivers that are isntalled are Atheros (Wifi), Intel SATA AHCI (Sata controller) and iAMT (Intel Active Management Interface)
I'm concerned with a couple of issues that you bring up.
"Everytime I re-install my laptop" I'm concerned that you are re-loading the system frequently. This may happen every couple of years for one reason or another, but is not something that should be occuring with regularity. What is happening to require your reinstallations?
The issue of freezing for minutes at a time seems to occur how often? Once a day? three times? ten? How long between occurances? What applications are you running when it occurs?
