Why did I receive the message "SYSTEM LOCK DUE TO: DISABLE TIMER EXPIRED"?

SYMPTOMS

If you received the message "SYSTEM LOCK DUE TO: DISABLE TIMER EXPIRED", this is because a security feature was enabled in your McAfee settings for Anti-theft. This feature helps prevent unauthorized use by locking your computer.

SOLUTION

If you are unable to log in to your computer, then the Anti-theft can be unlocked by following one of the solutions defined in McAfee's How to unlock a computer that was locked by Anti-Theft.
