Is there any way I can upgrade the RAM to the Acer Aspire Cloudbook 14 (AO1-431-C8G8)?

Answers

  • No, the ram and the 32GB eMMC "HDD" are soldered to the motherboard.

Is it possible to back up files with a flash drive or SD card?
  • Yes. You can back up anything to a Flash drive or a usb HDD, external drive.

i have an acer one 14 z1402-p82g and it apparently can be upgraded to 8gigs. i just took it apart and it was fairly easy too switch with the new ram, although i only bought 4gigs, assuming that should be enough. i also found that the hard drive was easy to take out, so i will replace with my new ssd once i figure out how to boot from usb, but now i'm back in windows 10 but it still only shows 2gig total ram! do i have to make a software change somewhere?

You might want to download the upgrade scanner at crucial dot com to see if it can detect what's hooked up in there. As brummyfan2 suggests, it seems that only DIMM2 works but may support a memory module much larger than the existing BIOS firmware can actually use.
