Hello,

I have just tried to connect my Aspire 8520TG Laptop to my TV via HDMI.

WHile the laptop sees the TV in connected devices, I cannot get the laptop to display to the TV.

the laptop does not recongnise the TV as a display device and using "windows key + P" does not recognise the connected TV.

The TV is a Samsung 55" Smart TV

Any advice would be appreciated, Thank you in advance

The Aspire 5820 TG is only supported by Acer for Windows 7. You probably have a Windows 10 driver problem with the graphics driver. It may not be showing any errors, but isn't supporting what you want to do. Windows 10 has some strange issues with some multi-monitor setups.

You might check the hertz setting and see if it's 60. Right click on desktop/Screen Resolutin/Advanced Settings.

Go to Device Manager/Display adapter and see if you have any yellow marks. You can right click on the driver and choose update. That's helped some people.
