I have an Aspire E-17 laptop. Occasionally, the mouse stops responding. I have to power down

I have intermittent problems with my mouse. Sometimes, it just stops working. I have to power down the laptop to get it to work again.

Another problem I have with the mouse is that it doesn't always stay where I put it. It just sort of drifts off which means I end up with incorrect clicks. Is it perhaps a setting thing?

You can check the settings by typing touchpad on the Windows desktop and selecting Mouse and touchpad settings. You should see a variety of settings you can tweak. If this does not resolve the issue you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the touchpad driver. Also check for an updated driver as well. You might want to have a USB mouse handy to navigate once you uninstall that driver.
