TC-780 Noisy 2 TB Hard Drive; remount options sought

Brand new Aspire ATC-780 AMZi5 has a noisy (grinding) hard drive.

Looking inside the case, the 2TB Hard Drive is mounted vertically (on its side).

Do you think the vertical mount of the drive is inducing the noise?

Does anyone have experience remounting a Hard Drive horizontally (large surface parallel to the ground)?

I am concerned about eventual failure. A SSD will be installed soon and the OS moved onto it. However, I still want a large amount of storage in a secondary drive.

All suggestions welcomed

if an HDD is noisy, it will always be, despite the mounting side.

have an HDD tune (not PRO) application check about HDD health status.

thanks, what is the meaning behind the PRO part?

I loaded the Acer Care Center program, it seems to think the drive is fine.

The more I hear it, the more I think "one day, it will stop make that noise"

PRO is the pay version, the other is free with less features.
Maybe is just a mechanical noise but if it's annoying, you can contact Acer support service and let them have a look under warranty.
