@DonR67 Hi as per the device model it does not show that this device comes with keyboard backlight. But if you were using it before and stopped working after adding new SSD then try this. Press Fn + F8 or try Fn + F9

Just tap on the password and check if it allows you to enter the password. If it does not then try resetting the device.

You may download the firmware from acer website under drivers and manuals. Copy it on to SD card and then try to install the operating system.

My bad.. Please try unplugging all the cables and hold the power button for 30-40 sec. Post that try Alt + F10 to reboot the device.

I dont think this to be BIOS related issue. Have you tried to reset your device. If you have create recovery media then follow these steps. If you have not create one then try this. Connect the bootable media and during the boot time keep pressing F12. This would allow you to pick the OS and reboot the OS.

take out the battery and disconnect the charger. Post that press and hold the power button for 30 sec ( without power cable or battery ). Once done, try Alt and F10 to reboot your device to factory defaults.
