Acer C810 Chromebook shows vertical lines on the OS boot screen

Why does the Acer C810 show vertical lines on the boot screen when it first starts up?

SYMPTOMS
The Acer C810 Chromebook may show faint vertical lines on the display when you start or power on the system. The lines are only visible on the Chrome OS boot screen and will disappear once the system has booted into Chrome OS.

SOLUTION
We are working with Google to resolve this issue. An update to the Chrome OS will be released and automatically pushed to your Chromebook when it is available. It is not necessary to contact Acer to report or troubleshoot this issue.
