Acer Dust Defender

What is Acer Dust Defender?

Some Acer TravelMate notebooks include Acer Dust Defender software to help prevent dust from accumulating inside the system. Dust Defender works by briefly reversing the fan every 3 hours to flush out dust, enabling the components to stay cool, perform better, and last longer. This application is enabled by default. You can manually run Acer Dust Defender via the Acer Quick Access application.

Type Quick Access in the Windows search and press Enter.
Select Acer Quick Access from the list of results.
Click the Clean Now button under Dust Defender to clean the system.

Note: Acer Dust Defender only works on systems that are specifically designed for this feature, so it cannot be manually installed on other models. If Acer Dust Defender is supported for your product, it will be downloadable via our Acer support website.
