On Android, you have the choice to use the three-button navigation system or gestures to navigate applications on your device.
How to enable and use gestures
- Open the Settings⚙️ application.
- On the left menu, scroll down and tap on System.
- On the right side, tap on Gestures.
- In the Gestures menu, tap on Navigation mode.
- Then select Gesture navigation.
Note: When Gesture navigation is enabled, you will no longer see the menu shelf at the bottom of your screen.
When Gesture navigation is enabled
- To view the Menu shelf, slightly swipe up using the bar at the bottom of the screen.
- To close an application or go back to your home screen, flick or swipe up quickly from the bottom of the screen.
- To switch between apps, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold until you see the app switcher, then release.
- While in an application, swipe right or left to go back to the previous screen. If you are on the most previous screen and swipe right, you will be taken back to your home screen.
