Why is my chromebook not powering on after charging or waking from sleep?

A small number of units may not wake from sleep mode under certain conditions. You should update to the operating system to the version listed in the table below to resolve this issue. Please make sure your unit is set to auto update and school admins allow their units to update to Chrome OS.

How to Update Chrome OS

Turn on your Chromebook and connect it to Wi-Fi
Select the time in the bottom right corner, then select Settings
Select About ChromeOS in the bottom left corner
Under "Google ChromeOS," find your Chromebook's operating system version
Select Check for updates
