Can I have my Acer Veriton computer turn on automatically at a pre-defined time and day?
Your Acer Veriton computer has a function called “PowerOn by RTC Alarm”. If you enable this feature on your Veriton computer, the system will automatically wake up at a fixed time based on the system RTC (real time clock). If you wish to enable this feature, follow the instructions below.
How to enable PowerOn by RTC alarm
1) Set PowerOn by RTC Alarm in the BIOS
- Turn on your computer and immediately press the DEL or Delete key to enter the BIOS menu.
- Choose the Power menu in the BIOS.
- Disable the Deep Power Off mode.
- Enable the PowerOn by RTC Alarm option.
- Set the Date and the Time at which you want the device to start up.
- Save the new settings by pressing F10.
- Confirm by clicking on OK. Your computer will now restart.
2) Enable PowerOn by RTC Alarm in Windows
- Once your computer has restarted, type Control Panel in the Windows search bar.
- Open the Control Panel app by performing one of the following actions:
- Clicking on the search result on the left.
- Clicking on the Open button on the right.
- In the control panel menu, unfold the View by: dropdown menu and select Large icons.
- Now select Power options.
- In the menu on the left, click on Choose what the power button does.
- Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.
- Uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended).
- Confirm your settings by clicking on the Save changes button.
- Then shutdown your computer. Your computer should now wake up at the desired time and day/date.
