Acer AI Smart Charging is a machine learning-based charging algorithm that uses your behavioral patterns to create a personalized charging schedule that helps to reduce battery degradation and extends battery life. This process requires a period of time to learn your daily behavior. Once it has learned your usage patterns, the system will automatically adjust the charging strategy to optimize battery life.
How to enable Acer AI Smart Charging
- Launch the Sense software by pressing the Sense key on your keyboard as shown in the image below. You can also type Sense in the Windows search box, then select the Sense software in the search results to launch the software.
- Click on the Personal Settings tab.
- Select Battery & Charge from the left menu and click on the radio button to turn on AI Smart Charging.
How to turn off Smart Charging
You can use the Sense software to turn off Smart Charging by switching to a different battery charge mode.
- Launch the Sense software by pressing the Sense key on your keyboard.
- Click on the Personal Settings tab.
- Select Battery & Charge from the left menu and select your desired battery charge mode.
How to tell if Acer AI Smart Charging is on
You can check to see what charging mode you are using in the Sense software.
- Launch the Sense software by pressing the Sense key on your keyboard.
- Click on the Personal Settings tab.
- Click on Battery & Charge and check the charging mode to see if AI Smart Charging is selected.
What is the Windows Smart Charging Icon?
Windows will display a Smart Charging icon under certain conditions when your computer is in Optimized Charging mode, or when you have Acer AI Smart Charging enabled. Once your computer has learned your usage patterns, the smart charging icon will show when power is at 80% or charging to 80%.
