Kids mode is a useful feature that enhances Microsoft Edge parental control. It makes it much safer for your child to use the internet. It enables a content filter, only allowing pre-approved websites and web searches.
It also features a tracking filter and can be adapted to different ages between 5 and 12 years old. It fills the entire screen to prevent distraction. Kids mode is safe and requires a password to exit.

How to turn on Kids Mode in Microsoft Edge
Opening Kids Mode in Microsoft Edge will open a full screen kids mode on your computer, which replaces the taskbar and search bar format you normally find at the top of your screen.
Note: Make sure you have the latest version of Microsoft Edge to run kids mode by opening Edge and visiting edge://settings/help.
- Open the Microsoft Edge internet browser on your computer.
- Click on your profile image and select Browse in Kids Mode.
- In the Welcome pop-up window, click on Get Started.
- Choose the age group for your child from either 5-8 years or 9-12 years.
How to allow or deny sites on Kids Mode in Microsoft Edge
Use this setting to add or remove blocked sites from a list.
- In Microsoft Edge, click on your profile image and then select Manage profile settings.
- In Settings, click on Family in the left pane and then select Manage allowed sites in Kids Mode in the right pane.
- To add a new website to the allowed list, click on Add website.
- Type the website URL and select Add.
How to exit Kids Mode in Microsoft Edge using your password or PIN
Kids mode is password-protected, so your child will not be able to leave kids mode. You can only exit kids mode by entering your computer password or PIN.
- Move the cursor to the top of the screen to show the URL bar and click on Kids mode.
- Click on the Exit Kids Mode window.
- Enter your computer password or PIN.
