Your Chromebook allows you to receive notifications form all of your apps by default. You can change your notifications settings if you want to turn off notifications for an app or reduce the amount of notifications you receive. Use the instructions below to customize your Chromebook notification settings.
How to set your Chromebook notifications to Do Not Disturb
You can set your Chromebook notifications to do not disturb if you do not want to receive notifications.
- Click on the Time in the lower right corner.
- Click on the Notifications icon to set it to Do not disturb.
How to turn off notifications for specific Chromebook apps
You can turn off notifications for specific apps so you only receive notifications from your most important apps.
- Click on the Time in the lower right corner.
- Click on the Notifications text drop-down below the Notifications icon.
- In the section Allow notifications from the following, click to uncheck any apps that you do not want to receive notifications from.
How to turn off App Badging on Chromebooks
Chromebooks provide API support for App badging, which allows apps to put a badge on their icon when there is a notification. This feature can be turned on or off according to your preferences.
- Click on the Time in the lower right corner.
- Click on the Notifications text drop-down below the Notifications icon.
- Click on App badging to move the toggle to Off.
