Your Acer Nitro 5 allows you to put it to sleep so you can quickly resume your work, or completely shut it off if you do not plan on using it for a while or want to take it on the go. There are several options available to let you quickly put your computer in standby, or turn it off completely.
How to put your Acer Nitro 5 to sleep
If you need to power down the computer for a short while, but do not want to completely shut it down, you can put it to sleep by doing any of the following:
- Press the Power button on the top right of your keyboard.
- Press the Sleep hotkey (FN + F4).
- Press Start ⊞ and select Power > Sleep.
- Right-click the Windows Start ⊞ button and select Shut down or sign out > Sleep.
How to completely shut down or power off your Acer Nitro 5
If you want to completely shut down your Nitro 5 you can use any of the methods below.
- Use the Windows shutdown command: Press Start ⊞ and select Power > Shutdown.
- Right-click the Windows Start ⊞ button and select Shut down or sign out > Sleep.
Note: If you cannot power off the computer normally, press and hold the Power button for up to ten seconds to shut down the computer. If you turn off the computer and want to turn it on again, wait at least two seconds before powering up.
