- Remove the twelve screws securing the lower case to the upper case.
- Flip the computer over and open the LCD cover more than 90°.
- Lift up on the upper case and remove the mylar tape securing the battery cable. Be careful not to lift
- Disconnect the battery cable (A) from the mainboard connector first, then disconnect the macro keyboard cable (B), keyboard cable (C), and touch pad cable (D) from the mainboard connectors.
Note: Failure to unplug the battery before removing the upper case can result in damage to the main board. It is also important that all cables are plugged in before plugging in the battery cable while reassembling the system. Once the battery cable is connected, it should be secured to the main board with the black cloth tape that came preinstalled from the factory.
- Push the upper case as shown below to disengage it from its latches, then remove the upper case.
