Updating to BIOS 1.14 may help extend battery life when the system is not being used

This article only applies to: Aspire SF713-51 and Aspire SP714-51.

Updating your system to BIOS 1.14 will put your computer into storage mode when the battery charge is low and the notebook has not been used for over 2 weeks. This will prevent the battery from completely discharging when the system is not being used for extended periods of time. You will need to connect the AC adapter and power on the system to exit storage mode.

Use the following steps to to update the BIOS on your system.

Visit the Drivers and Manuals section of the Acer support website.
Enter your Serial Number/SNID or search for your product by Model.
Select BIOS/Firmware.
Click the Download link for the file you want to download (BIOS v1.14 or later).
