Some Chromebooks may experience a garbled or pixelated screen when powered on. You can see examples of this in the images below. This is caused by a recent driver update to the Chrome operating system. A new version of Chrome OS 64 will be released soon and automatically pushed to your device to resolve this issue.
Use the following steps to restart your Chromebook to make the display appear normally again.
- Press and hold the power key until the Chromebook powers off. It may take up to five seconds.
- Press the power key again to power the device back on. The screen should appear normal when the system restarts.
