hey, I have Acer predator PH315-51(16gbx1 SK Hynix 2666Mhz DDR4 ram, 6Gb GTX1060 GPU) Plus I have attached my CPU-Z report below

I want to upgrade to 16x2=32 Gb
As you can see my preinstalled Ram specs: CL is 19, channel is single, rank is dual and my speed is 2666Mhz, after a lot of research and I narrowed down to two Ram options to buy:

HyperX Impact 16GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL15 260-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory (HX426S15IB2/16)

URL:https://www.amazon.in/HyperX-Kingston-Technology-HX426S15IB2-16/dp/B01N7K4DV4/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=16gb+2666mhz+ram&qid=1594578419&sr=8-2

Crucial CT16G4SFD8266 16GB Single DDR4 2666 MT/s PC4-21300 DR x8 SODIMM 260-Pin RAM

URL:https://www.amazon.in/Crucial-Single-PC4-21300-SODIMM-260-Pin/dp/B071KP8CGJ/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=16gb+2666mhz+ram&qid=1594578419&sr=8-3

now crucial ram have CL 19 and dual-channel and hyper have CL 15 and Dual-channel
hyper ram is INR 1000 expensive plus in its reviews some predator users have issues with this ram.

The issue here is :
1) Can I mix Ram with different CL(Cas Latencies)
2) Can I mix single channel ram with dual-channel ram(what really dual channel means, is it just that I have to use rams with same size for dual channel operation?)
3) Which Ram should I buy?

Thank you

Architextureif you want a proper working dual channel you should buy a dual channel set i recommend hyperx or vengeance its the best you can get forget crucial the lower the CL the better plus hyperx has xmp jedec auto boost built in and no you should never mix any ram different size/clock/CL also forget the stock ram you will never be able to exactly match it as its manufacturers proprietary its not for sale anywhere only way to do it would be buying a used sodimm from someone else so all this say you should buy a hyperx dual channel kit 2x16gb  since you want to upgrade to 32gb and either keep you stock  ram for safe keeping or even sell it to someone who might be looking for another 16gb stock sodimm to pair with :)

PS: also bare in mind 2666 its only supported by 8th gen up (im assuming your cpu  its 8th gen) because 7th gen and ryzen will only support 2400 max even if the stock acer ram would be at 2666 on a 7th gen cpu any ram upgrade will down clock it to 2400 as i suspect the stock ram timings are setup manually in the bios (unlocked version) by acer before its shipped to work with only that particular stock oem sodimm but any ram swap/upgrade will reverse to 2400 as the only sodimm that would work at 2666 on the 7th gen would be the stock sodimm i noticed that on mine with my 8gb sodimm which clocked at 2666 but as soon as i upgraded my ram the bios resets/updates the timings for the new ram by rebooting 2/3 times and 2666 will down clock to 2400 i cant prove it as all the bios are hard locked but its the only explanation i can see in my view plus intel states on the specs that 7th gen and under only support 2400 so thats it

    thanks, @xapim for hearing me
yes I have 8th gen chip
The thing is I m tight on the budget here so, for now, I may not purchase a kit.
but in the future, I m looking forward to installing both slots with hyper 16gb ram, but for now, I m thinking about to purchase 1 and i.e hyper ram but I am not sure it will work with my stock ram and that is why I have crucial as an option coz it is pretty compatible with my system and stock ram.
Plus which slot in predator support Dual channel?

Note: I may be using some terms in wrong reference here!

    thanks again!

Architexture well technically should still work just fine if you get only a 16gb hyperx for  now and later the other its not the same as having a ready dual channel complete set to exactly pair  but will work for the time being and good luck :)
