We are a large school district looking to purchase more computers - does Acer have any method of mass changing bios settings and deploying bios updates? We want to make sure Acer has this capability since we dont want to be having to physically visit each computer to perform a bios update or change a bios setting.
Thanks

You need to go with Dell or HP as they are only pc manufacturers that still have corporate customers.

The BIOS update on most Acer computers is a command line batch file, so it can be run remotely pretty easily if you are using any remote control software package. If the systems are all the same model/SKU you could place the files (or a zip of the files) in a network share then batch them all to upgrade using that share. It'd likely be safest to extract them down to the local machine then perform the update, since it will require a reboot to update a BIOS. Most BIOS updates don't require a reset to defaults or such that would have to be done from within the BIOS setup utility itself. It's also possible to PXE boot most machines so you could boot into a DOS environment and run the update from there if you'd prefer.
