I'm wondering what the best route might be to purchase my next Predator laptop. I know it can't be 100% futureproof, but I'm wondering which route to take to make sure it can run for years to come. Do I go for the RTX 2070 Triton 500 or get a Helios 300/Triton 500 with Thunderbolt 3? I'm also wondering which route is cheaper, but lasting the longest is more important. Thanks in advance

If your budget is unlimited then get the Acer Predator Triton 500 PT515-51-71PZ with the Intel Core i7-9750H (Intel Core i7) and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q - 8192 MB, Core: 885 MHz, Memory: 1530 MHz, GDDR6, ForceWare 417.59, Optimus which is a "Lot of Gaming Performance Despite the Slim Case" and as most of the reviews state:

With the Predator Triton 500 Acer sells an elegant and extremely flat gaming notebook without any major flaws. In all rating categories, the 15-inch laptop earns at least 70%, which speaks for a balanced and well-thought-out system. Our criticisms, which are in the "Cons" list on the right, are rather insignificant. To get a "very good" as an overall grade, Acer should have put more emphasis on the fan control, for example; this includes the sometimes annoying starts in idle.

Another thing is the temps (which is common to all these sorts of gaming laptops) you will need a laptop cooler because: the temperatures are also in the midfield. While the top of the case got hot in the stress test (FurMark & Prime95), reaching up to 49°C (120.2°F), we were able to measure up to 59°C (138.2°F) on the bottom. The device is thus not suitable for gaming sessions on the lap. In the more practical "Witcher 3" test, the values were only slightly lower" which is still not at critical levels.

@csuntico well the 1080 still pretty good and solid but if you're thinking in the long run I would get a 2070 but would try to get a max p not max q and in the end its all up to your budget

@csuntico Your original question included Thunderbolt 3 and if I was future proofing a laptop I would make sure it had Thunderbolt 3 AND Mini Display Port.
I have highlighted the models that have both
