I have an Acer Predator Helio 300 laptop with a NVidia GTX 1060 graphics card and I bought a Predator Monitor XB252Q and I can't get it to 240 hz. I connected the monitor with an HDMI cable since the laptop doesn't have a display port. Is it possible to run at 240 hz? Do I need a special HDMI cable? Or a display port adaptor?

Unfortunately, ACER only warrants 60Hz max for its HDMI port even though the adapter may support higher frame rates. Some --- but not all --- higher frequency monitors apparently do work according to some reports. But still not guaranteed by ACER. Jack E/NJ

RuiCastro ill ask the staff if this thread should remain here or maybe moved to the proper forum section in order for you to get the proper help that you require for the particular issue youre having as this forum is for predator laptops related issues only (i noticed youre trying to get it to work at 240hz on you H300 probably someone who has the same monitor could confirm this)  also what is the full model number of your predator and here is a list of all the tested displays supporting 240hz  via hdmi so far also theres is an up to date list in the predator fb group check my signature :)

It a Predator Laptop g3-572 (nvidia gtx 1060) with Predator Monitor XB252Q.

From the Predator Monitor XB252Q manual I think only with displayport it will run at 240 hz.

Would a displayport to usb-t work? 240 hz? Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Infinnet-DisplayPort-Bidirectional-Thunderbolt-Certified-1-5/dp/B07R3ZQBS6/ref=sr_1_18?keywords=displayport+240hz&qid=1579199640&sr=8-18

From the list of monitors the ASUS XG258Q seems to work with the Helio 300. Or it may not be my model g3-572. Can any one confirm please?
