i just bought my predator Helios  300 2019 three days ago and booted the device properly
one thing that iv'e noticed is that no matter how heavy the game i ran on the GPU the usage is always still under 60 %
although when i ran a GPU benchmark i managed to hit 99% with an avg temp of 70c while turbo mode is enabled
i have not done anything weird or crazy like overclocking and all these methods
the device is set on best performance and is plugged to the charger
and still i get the same results whether turbo mode is enabled or disabled
one more thing is that  the CPU Temp Is always above 85c while gaming for less than one hour with both turbo mode and cool boost on and sometimes it hits 93c at max
my specs are
CPU i7 9750h
GPU Gtx 1660 ti
memory 16 GB 2666 Mhz
the model is Predator PH315-52

Try a GPU benchmarking software and see if this happens here too.

  • The temps you are getting are NORMAL and nothing to get alarmed about. My suggestion, get yourself a good and efficient laptop tablet bench cooler and use that to enhance your cooling of the laptop! Remember that no gaming laptop will be as efficient as a water cooled gaming desktop, the laptop is an incased and very limited in its cooling alternatives and it cannot dissipate heat as efferently as a gaming desktop does, plus, you cant install water cooling onto a laptop, well you can, but it wont be a laptop anymore lol

have the 2019 Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52-75DE (RTX2060). purchased from Amazon in Feb. 2020 for $1,299. To test CPU and GPU I used 3 benchmark programs Cinebench R15 & R20, Unigine Superposition. Other was to monitor the sensors was HWinfo64 which all are free programs to download. Open Predator Sense and go to the OC and select Extreme Profile (Normal, Fast, Extreme). CPU has TDP of 45 W and should get close to 56 W when running the benchmarks. CPU Frequency should run between 3.9GHz to 4.3GHz averaging above 3.8GHz during the test. CPU Temperature in Unigine with setting to Extreme that it likely will reach 87c to 90c, depends on how long laptop been on prior to running benchmark. My i7-9750H did get to 93c at which above 90c will Thermal Throttle, however depending how far you are into the benchmark that the Fans will increase speed in attempt to cool the CPU and keep it under 90c so it should not throttle for more than a few seconds. I recommend that you not run your games at their highest level as your Laptop will become Hot and probably throttle a lot and the fans will be at turbo speed becoming loud. The RTX 2060 temp appears to stay in the 70c to 83c range. When running the benchmarks have the AC Adapter plugged in. Ultrabookreview.com has some excellent info: https://www.ultrabookreview.com/27055-acer-predator-helios-300-review-ph315-52/#:~:text=The%20mid%2Drange%20configuration%2C%20somewhat,the%20time%20of%20this%20update.
regarding the benchmarks, mine performed near and just below average

Benchmarking its relative and not important at all ppl give too much importance to benchmarking every game/app will perform differently using the cpu/gpu no one should worry about benchmarks but real game/apps performance/temps thats what matters

DarkKnight also if you havent already optimise your windows properly and undervolt it further with ts until you find the sweet spot check here make sure the back its lifted at all times 2/3 inches for a proper airflow if you feel your temps are still high the only solution its to repaste it with kryonaut or similar if you can without voiding your warranty or send it back to acer to get it repasted with stock paste bare in mind cpu shouldnt go above 85'ish and gpu 70/75 max good luck

@Scottyat5 also no need to revive old dead threads as everyone should start a new thread if they have issues not going to older ones as much has changed since then and will only make our work as ACES even more difficult regarding helping if you want to share your solution (which are always welcome) u should open a new thread and post them all there for everyone to see it would be much easier that way :)
