Has anyone installed an 1TB Adata SX8200 Pro into a Triton 500? I went to upgrade the thermal paste, Ram, and NVME drive and could not get a boot. I cloned the WD drive that was currently in the laptop to the Adata SX8200 Pro and inserted the SX8200 into the Triton 500 and tried to boot only with that drive. It would sit at the initial loading screen with the circular dot loading. It would not boot at all, or do anything. Then I tried booting with both the WD drive and the SX8200 Pro and it would not boot at all again. When I removed the SX8200 and booted only with the WD Drive it worked like normal again. Has anyone had success with this drive and booting or can you only use it for extra storage instead of cloning the original drive over. I also noticed when I was cloning the drive over that the WD that comes with the laptop actually comes with an 8mb unallotted section, I thought about including this to try with the SX8200 Pro but decided not to pull apart the computer again until I research. The drive was tested before cloning the original WD Drive, and it worked perfectly fine. Also with an external NVME enclosure the drive shows up perfectly fine and runs fine, so there is no issues with the SX8200 Pro.

Also a thing I noticed is that the Triton 500 does not like NVME drives with chips on both sides due to poor construction by Acer. It fits but bends the SSD a little with the screw if you have chips on both sides.

Anyone know or get this NVME drive running? What drives have others successfully used that are high speed 1tb+ NVMEs?

Anyone have any information? Has anyone put a different boot drive into their Triton 500?

Regulater as far as i had seen most ppl tend to go for the evo's when it comes to nvme but have you tried to swap slots seems that the drive its not getting properly recognized as uefi boot drive how did you cloned it what software did you used are you sure it was properly cloned i always used easeus partition master to clone all drives never had a single issue

I used macrium Reflect to clone the drive. When I clone NVME SSDs I use an external NVME enclosure that plugs in through USB C. I then run Macrium Reflect and move the recovery over 1 slot that way I can load the extra unallotted into the Acer C drive. I saw some other posts of people having issues with the sx8200 pro too with their acers afterwards, but nothing on the triton 500. The SX8200 Pro is a high end drive and priced far better than the Evo Plus which is why I go with the SX8200 Pro in my computers. $100 difference and the sx8200 Pro is 3500/3000 vs the 3500/3300 of the evo plus. I saw an Acer person though posted a link that showed the SX8200 Pro on it but Acer America only states 256/512gb are the tested drives but wouldnt imagine an issue running a 1tb drive. Id eventually like to run 2 1tb sx8200 pros in the triton 500, but I cant even get it to run with 1 at all.

Ill give that a shot. I have multiple sx8200 pros waiting to put into the triton 500s and 1660ti helios 300, but have delayed it. I noticed that the stock drive has an 8MB unallotted portion too. So what ill do is make a direct clone of the stock drive and just leave the remainder unallotted as macrium reflect doesnt allow you to expand the C drive unless you move the recover 1 over. Then I also already made another drive with the 8mb unallotted. Been too busy to take apart the laptop again as that day I took it apart 4 times. I have also tried multiple of the drive as I have a bunch of them that I purchased to upgrade the triton 500s and helios 300s we have to 2 1tb drives in each, so I know that it isnt a bad drive.

Yeah you will have the 8mb unallocated space everytime you partition a drive
