Hello,

I've just bought an acer Nitro AN515-54 and when i try to turn it on the screen remains black.

I've plug the AC adapter to charge the battery, and the battery indicator lights in red.

When i push the power button the led near the battery indicator turns into blue, but the screen remains black, and the keyboard light doesn't change.

Do i forgot some step to do with the first use of my computer or does it have a major problem (and go to acer technical support).

Thank you for your help

    Hi gohoro

Please try a simple power reset to check the auto shutdown issue. Shutdown the laptop. Disconnect the charger. Please check for a battery reset PIN hole at the bottom of the device. The reset hole would have a battery symbol next to it. Insert a paperclip into the hole and press for four seconds. Let the computer sit for 5 minutes with no power. Reconnect the charger and power On the laptop. It should work fine.

Hi, sorry to hear it. Since you said that the battery indicator light is red, it tells us that the charge of the unit is too low and also you said that you are trying to turn on the unit for the first time. Generally what I suggest is if you are trying to turn on the unit for the first time, before you turn on the unit for the first time, leave the unit to charge for 8 hours and the battery indication light will change to blue colour, then turn on the unit. If the unit doesn't turn on even after 8 hours, kindly try power drain by following the below steps.

    Power Drain
    **********
    1)Unplug the AC power adapter.
2)Press and hold the Power button down until the unit goes off.
3)Search for a pinhole that has a battery symbol next to it on the backside of your laptop, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole, press and hold it down for 25 seconds. Then release the paperclip and try to turn on the unit and check.

If this does not work try out a different wall socket or try swapping power cables with monitor power cable to see if the power cable is bad.

After checking it's seems that i don't have a battery reset hole. So i'm going to try to get a refund for this laptop from my seller .

I think that is a good idea, it's new and not working so a refund or replacement would be good. If I have answered your question please click YES, thankyou and good luck
