Nitro AN515-51 Start and stops charging

I've been using this laptop for more than a year. Upgraded the ram to 16gb and swapped the 1TB hdd to 1TB ssd. The 1st time I encountered the problem was a few months ago. I wasn't playing then so I didn't notice any performance drop. The battery would stop charging at 95% as if the charger is unplugged. It would beep and the display would go dim. It will then drain for a few minutes and start charging again until it reaches 95%. I suspected it was the charger, so I switched my charger to my son's AN515-51 charger. The problem persisted and my son's AN515-51 worked fine. So what I did is I unplugged the charger so I can work without being annoyed. After the battery level went down to around 40% i plugged the charger back in and it worked fine again.

Today I encountered it again. But now it stops at around 80%. So I did what I did last time but this time it did not work. So I figured the battery needs to be calibrated so I let it drain until it turns off. Plugged it again to charge but the problem persisted at around 75%. There's an old post similar to this problem but it never got answered. Is this a battery heating problem? any thoughts?

Hi, sorry to hear it. Kindly try the below steps.

    RESET BIOS
    **********
1.Turn Off the unit. Press the power button to turn On the unit, immediately start tapping the F2 key until you enter the BIOS screen.
2.In the BIOS, press F9 to reset the BIOS to setup defaults.
3.At the confirmation screen, press Enter for Yes to load the default configuration.
4.Press F10 to save your changes, and restart the system. Select Yes and press ENTER to confirm.

Also try to uninstall and reinstall the drivers by the following steps.
    1) In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager.
    2) Right-click (or press and hold) the name of the keyboard driver, and select Uninstall.
    3) Restart your PC.
    4) Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

Try a battery reset. Unplug and turn off, put a straightened paperclip into the small hole on the underside of the laptop and press for 10 secs. Let sit for 15 mins then plug in and turn on. Hope that helps

The BIOS reset and battery reset didn't work. One thing I noticed though while resetting the bios, the problem continued to occur as I can hear the beeping sound. Does this indicate a faulty battery? As I stated, I don't encounter this problem if I drain my battery below 50% and start charging it. It works fine until it is charged 75%. Will continue to test if this is consistent or just coincidental.

The problem is consistent within the 70-80% range. I believe this is a hardware issue. I'm gonna have it checked since its still under warranty.
